I have been a volunteer since 2018, starting out as an office volunteer once a week.

I answer the telephone, send out thank you letters, research information, and listen to clients on the telephone, who are sometimes in deep distress and wanting someone to talk to. Patience and empathy are essential as often clients are calling us during a very low ebb in their lives. With the Covid outbreak I also supported clients with weekly shopping and provided vital companionship - often taking my beloved dog with me to meet clients.
